PASS TOKEN TO END USER

Apple introduced the need for a “Secure Token” to be held by a user in order to update your computer in recent versions of MacOS. In most cases, the “Secure Token” is held by either Tech Admin or Admin and needs to be passed to you, the end use. The below instructions will guide you through passing this token so you can update your computer.

1. Open Self Service

This is the Eagle Icon in your dock

2. Click on “My Scripts” on the left

3. Execute the “Pass Token” Script

Click “Execute Now” underneath the option to pass the token to the end user. It will either say “Pass Token From Tech Admin To End User” or “Pass Token From Admin To End User”.

4. Click “Ok” when prompted to receive the Secure Token

5. Enter your current Mac password

6. Click “Ok” when the token has been passed

If you receive an error message, there is a chance you typed your password incorrectly. Please start over at Step 3.

You should now have rights to update your computer using your username and password. Should you run into any issues, don’t hesitate to submit a ticket. We’re here to help!
